This OTD is inspired by this week s Want It Wednesday on our Facebook page. We were thrilled to get such a great response from our friends and followers, and it inspired us to dedicate a blog post to the topic. Even in these high temperatures, a cool morning, or evening, on the porch can be a great time to forget all your stress and just watch the sunset (or your quirky neighbors). We ve picked five homes currently listed with Ebby agents that have the perfect front porches to sit back, relax, and enjoy the little things that make life so great.

At 9618 Hillview Drive in Lake Highlands is our first dreamy front porch. This brick, Georgian-style home has beautiful white banisters on two stories, one of which surrounds the first floor front porch. This porch has all the southern charm in the world, with white rocking chairs and a porch swing. Can t you just see yourself unwinding right here with a cup of coffee or a cold iced tea? A brick home at 6903 Westlake Avenue in Lakewood is the site of our second featured front porch. This covered area is ideal for an after dinner gathering of family or friends. It’s surrounded by large brick archways and has a fan to keep you extra cool in this triple digit heat. It is currently home to a couch, two chairs, and two tables, which show off just how spacious this area is.For more details, contact Streiff and Williams at 214-729-3595 or streiffwilliams@ebby.com.

A refined Victorian home in Waxahachie can be found at 401 Oldham. The front porch here seems so airy and peaceful. The home is up off the street, giving the porch a great view of passersby. There is currently a swing on one end of the porch, leaving the area on other side open for a table and a few chairs. Grab your favorite drink and wave to the neighbors as they walk by with their dogs from the comfort of your new porch swing. Contact Jan Davis at 9972-283-7519 or jandavis@ebby.com for more on this property.

Our fourth front porch is in McKinney at 902 W Louisiana Street. This area also has a white banister, like our first home, and a great fan, like our second. It seems to be a pretty perfect combination of size, shape and features. As far as we re concerned, give us a rocker, a little shade, and the peace of mind of owning our own home and we re happy, happy, happy. Ok, how great is this one? We re in the Hollywood Heights/Santa Monica area of East Dallas at 7006 Santa Monica Drive for our final front porch. This one also features a charming white banister and plenty of room for family and friends. Grab a chair, take a breath, close your eyes, and you might just feel like you re on a mini-vacation without ever leaving home.
