Love Where You Live: Exterior

Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! Today is the final day of our Love Where You Live series and we want to thank you for following along as we explored the rooms that inspire all of us to love where we live. On the final day we are talking about the home exteriors. Driving up to your home at the end of the day should be a relaxing and welcoming experience. An exterior that just “feels like home” is the ultimate realization of loving where you live.

Love Where You Live: Exterior

We knew we had to pick something special for the final day, so we went with timeless and classic. The home at 8 Robledo Drive is a French Traditional decorated in understated French Country style. It just feels right, from the smooth, cream stucco and gabled roof to the mature, soaring trees and circular driveway. This home is the manifestation of elegance and sophistication. We’re relaxed just looking at it and can’t imagine the joy of getting to return home to it each and every day.

Overall, this home has 3 bedrooms, 5 1/2 baths, 5,819 sq. ft. and a 3-car garage. It is located in the exclusive gated community of Los Arboles and was designed by Tie Davis, with construction by Cy Barcus and landscaping by Naud Burnett. It’s a gem and a haven from front door to back porch. Take a minute and get the full tour, here.

Love Where You Live: Game Room

We saved this feature just for Friday. A game room is the perfect place to watch the game, relax, and enjoy the weekend. It’s a space for family and friends, adults and kids to have a some fun without ever leaving home.

Love Where You Live: Game Room

The game room at 1029 Abbey Lane in Mclendon Chisholm, TX is an ideal addition to our Love Where You Live series because it brings so much together in one room. This space offerers a pool table, an area to play cards, recliner seating in front of the TV, a fireplace, and a full bar- with another TV! Obviously, this room is just as beautiful as it is functional thanks to the wood trimmed, vaulted ceiling, crown molding, handscraped hardwood flooring and tall stone fireplace. We’re jealous of anyone who gets to look forward to a weekend in this game room!

To give you the full picture, this room belongs to a 5-bedroom, four-bath, and two half-bath home with 6,628 sq. ft. of living space. The backyard is an oasis, with an outdoor TV, four fire pits, and a saltwater pool and spa with a built-in table and seating. Did we mention all of the covered outdoor space as well? This home is ideal for anyone who loves to entertain and do it right. Take the full tour, here.

Love Where You Live: Entry

We’re only two short days away from Valentine’s Day! If this Love Where You Live feature doesn’t get your heart pumping, we’re not sure what will. Today, let’s talk about your home’s entry. It’s the first impression that guests get when they step inside, and it sets the the tone for look and feel of the rooms that lie beyond it. An entry doesn’t have to be dramatic, but it should be warm and welcoming.

Love Where You Live: Entry

The entry we chose comes to use from the listing at 12541 Renoir Lane in Dallas. It does have a little flare for the dramatic, but we think it’s just the right amount. The staircase seems to be pulled like clay right out of the ceiling. It has a lovely, slow curve that perfectly accentuates the gorgeous chandelier that hangs at its center. The colors and materials used in the space and the open feeling that draws you into the home all add instant charm and an inviting feeling. We love the plantation shutters flanking the wood and etched glass front door, the thick crown molding, the rich hardwoods, and the fine ironwork.

Of course, this entry is just the beginning of a wonderful 5-bedrooms, 5 1/2-bath, 6,414 sq. ft. home. The home features three stories with elevator access from the basement with a wine cellar, to the kitchen, to the bedrooms upstairs. If we could see this one in person, we know we would be wowed! Lucky for us, and for you, there’s an open house this Sunday, Feb. 15, from 1 to 3 p.m. If you can’t stop by, you should still take the digital tour, here.

Love Where You Live: Walk-in Closet

Love Where You Live: Walk-in Closet

This walk-in closet, part of the master suite at 6326 Lakehurst Ave. in Dallas’ Preston Hollow, is a sight to behold. What is it missing? Nothing. There’s open storage and covered storage, rows for shoes and rows of drawers, big shelves and little shelves, an island with even more storage and hardwood flooring. Love Where You Live: Kitchen

Love Where You Live: Home Office

Working from home can be harder than one might think. Family members, TV’s, and a bed just down the hall are only some of the added distractions that come with having a stay-at-home job. So, as part of our Love Where You Live series, we’re featuring a home office that seems to be the perfect place to stay focused and get down to it. And, of course, it’s also beautiful.

Love Where You Live: Home Office

This space appeals to us largely because of the duality of masculine and feminine decor. The wood walls, dark tones and rich leather couch pair very nicely with with the softer notes of the pillows, rug and glass work. The sliding glass doors and large-pane windows bring an airiness to this home office, which may otherwise feel slightly heavy. We also love this room because of its proximity to the covered porch and distance from the busier parts of the home.

This beautiful office is part of an equally stunning home at 6414 Deloache Ave. in Preston Hollow. It has five bedrooms, five bathrooms, two half-baths, and 6,215 square feet of living space. On top of that, there’s a formal living room, an open family room and kitchen, an outdoor kitchen, a heated pool and spa, and a putting green. Obviously there’s much more we could say about this listing, but the pictures, here, will tell you more.

Love Where You Live: Media Room

It was hard to choose which awesome media room to feature on Day 7 of the series, but we knew we had to pick by Sunday. Sunday is the perfect day to relax and unwind with a movie or your favorite TV show before the week begins again, and what better way to do it than in your own theater? We love the idea of curling up with friends and family in cozy chairs to be whisked away by the magic of Hollywood.

Love Where You Live: Media Room

Like we said, it was hard to choose, but in the end we went with the media room at 34 Balmoral in Richardson. It’s elegant and definitely gives off that theater feel with a big screen, sconce lighting, and an awesome painted ceiling. Did we mention the seating? It’s almost too easy to imagine reclining in those luxurious, black leather chairs.

This media room is just one great feature of this listing, which is situated on a half-acre creek lot in a gated community. The home itself has four bedrooms, 4 1/2 baths. hardwood and travertine flooring, and a three-car garage. You’re going to want to take the full tour here.

Love Where You Live: Breakfast Area

Happy Saturday! Today’s feature is one of our favorites because it represents great memories with great people over great food. The breakfast area is the perfect informal space to get together before the work/school day begins and it’s an ideal spot for eggs and bacon on a Saturday morning.

Love Where You Live: Breakfast Area

This breakfast room comes to you from a beautiful home at 732 Lexington Ave. in Coppell. We love the bright colors, eclectic decor and designer touches. It is such a happy space, plus it’s open to the gorgeous kitchen. Whether you household is small or large, it’s always important to have a place to gather around and be together, even if it’s just for a quick meal at the breakfast table.

On the whole, this listing is a four-bedroom, four-bath, and three half-bath home with 6,442 sq. ft. of living space. The home boasts indoor-outdoor living areas, hardwood flooring, high ceilings, a pool and spa, a three-car garage…the list could go on and on, so you should really just take the tour, here, for yourself! You’ll be glad you did when you see how much this home has to offer.

Love Where You Live: Master Bedroom

It’s Day 5 of our Love Where You Live series and we’re on to the bedroom, more specifically the master bedroom. Even if you don’t have the master in your house, your bedroom should be a place that you love, a sanctuary away from everything else. You begin and end your day in this room, so it’s important that it inspires you in positive ways.

Love Where You Live: Master Bedroom

The master bedroom we’ve chosen to feature is part of a suite at 3508 Villanova St. in University Park. This room boasts a sitting area with a fireplace, a vaulted and beamed ceiling, handscraped hardwood floors, and a beautiful color scheme. One of the things we like most about this space is the neutral color palette and understated design. Everything feels serene and relaxing, from the gray-washed beams, to the double headboard, to the rich hardwood floors. It has to be hard to wake up on the wrong side of the bed in this setting!

Like we said, this space is part of a suite. The master bathroom shares the see-through fireplace, has dual vanities with granite countertops, a walk-in shower, a jetted tub, and a large, custom walk-in closet. Furthermore, this suite belongs to a five-bedroom, five-bath, and three half-bath home in one of the city’s most desirable locations. Outside, there is a covered patio with a fireplace and a built-in grill as well as a fenced-in backyard. Take the full tour of this amazing property here.

Love Where You Live: Outdoor Living

Is there any outdoor living quite like lake living? Lake people really know how to do it right, especially the owners selling the property at 329 Hickory Hill Lane in Scroggins.

Love Where You Live: Outdoor Living

This picture shows the fire pit, open patio space, tall trees, and classic bench swing, but there’s so much more. The lake views are breathtaking from the spacious deck by the house to the deck by the boat lift. Honestly, we’re pretty speechless on this one. Does it get much better than sunsets over the lake and room to breathe away from the city? We’re definitely feeling the love.

When you’re not outside taking in all the beauty, you can catch the views from inside this three-bedroom, two-bath home. It’s a log home, so cue the charm, and it features walls of windows and vaulted ceilings. This home is ready to be your permanent or weekend retreat from the city. Take a full tour here.
