Prosper I Celina Office to Open Summer 2017

Prosper I Celina Office to Open Summer 2017

Ebby Halliday Realtors has announced plans to open a new Prosper I Celina Office. Scheduled to open in July 2017, the approximately 5,000-square-foot office is located at the northeast corner of Highway 289 (Preston Road) and Prosper Trail in fast-growing Prosper. It will be “home” to approximately 50 residential real estate agents serving the greater Prosper/Celina area.

“This state-of-the-art office will greatly enhance our ability to serve the needs of the area’s growing number of home buyers and sellers for many years to come,” says Mary Frances Burleson, president and CEO of the Ebby Halliday Companies, which includes Dallas-based Ebby Halliday Realtors and Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate and Fort Worth-based Williams Trew Real Estate, as well as affiliated companies Texas Premier Title, Home Team Insurance and Home Team Mortgage Company.

“The location of our new office is phenomenal,” says Ebby Halliday Companies Chief Financial Officer Ron Burgert, who was instrumental in selecting the new site and building out the new office. “Strategically situated along State Highway 289 (Preston Road), it offers easy access to the 289 and U.S. 380 corridors, as well as the Dallas North Tollway.”

Ebby’s new Prosper I Celina Office will feature collaboration centers where Associates and clients may meet to discuss residential real estate needs, says Cathie Skinner, who recently was named sales manager of Ebby’s new Prosper I Celina office. Cutting-edge technology will help the office’s Associates assist buyers with their home searches and sellers with their understanding of local market trends.

Skinner, who has been a real estate agent for seven years, joined Ebby’s Plano/Willow Bend Office three years ago. She has been a multimillion-dollar producer every year since she entered the real estate business. Skinner says she chose Ebby Halliday Realtors because of her respect for the firm’s founder, Ebby Halliday, who passed away two years ago at the age of 104, and because of the firm’s stellar reputation.

“From day one, Ebby Halliday Realtors has offered a firm foundation for my business,” Skinner says. “Having owned many properties and having experienced the ups and downs of the market, I strongly believe in homeownership and in our company.”

A very open, authentic person, Skinner says she is a mentor-teacher at heart.

“I love to see others succeed, and I’m excited about this opportunity to use my enthusiasm and sales skills to ‘sell’ Ebby as a company,” Skinner says. “Agents have choices and they can’t choose a better company than Ebby Halliday Realtors. I am really looking forward to investing in our Prosper I Celina agents by encouraging them and giving them the tools to be the best they can be.”

An Enduring Legacy

An Enduring Legacy

As we near the end of another year, we’d like to pause to reflect on the significance of 2015, the year that marked the passing of our company’s founder, Ebby Halliday.

Ebby was 104, but knowing her passing was imminent didn’t make it any easier. Throughout her life Ebby illuminated everything she touched, everything she said and everything she did. In the meantime, she brought light to each of our lives.

In the few months since she left us the spirit of her companies has been unwavering. Those of us fortunate enough to be part of the Ebby Halliday Companies have witnessed a sense of solidarity – a united front – that seems to run from the agent level right to the top. Simply put, the Ebby Halliday Companies are stronger than they have ever been.

The pride is palpable; it’s invigorating to be a part of Ebby’s legacy. And, truth be told, Ebby would be so proud of each and every one of us and how we’ve faired these past few months without her.

In 1945, Ebby Halliday founded her namesake company on three principles of service. As we enter 2016, that company is one the most-admired in America and more committed than ever to honor her legacy through exemplary service to our clients, our industry and the North Texas community.

Housing Price Gains Smallest Since Last Summer

Housing Price Gains Smallest Since Last Summer

Dallas-area home prices rose at the slowest rate in 10 months, according to the just-released Standard & Poor’s/Case-Shiller Home Price Index.

Dallas prices were up 8.6 percent in May from a year ago. Nationwide, prices rose 9.4 percent in the same period.

The lower home price gains had been predicted by analysts who see some moderation after many months of double-digit price increases. Eighteen of the 20 cities Case-Shiller surveys had lower gains in May than in April.

Dallas’ increase was the smallest since July of last year. Earlier this year local home prices were growing at more than 10 percent from a year ago.

The largest annual gains in May were in Las Vegas, 16.9 percent, and San Francisco, 15.4 percent. The smallest increase was in Cleveland, 2.4 percent.

Dallas-area home prices are now at a record level – up more than 9 percent from where they were before the recession. And prices here are almost 25 percent ahead of where they were at the worst of the economic downturn in 2009. Dallas-area prices have been rising in the Case-Shiller study for more than 24 months.
