Shelly Nelson has been named Recruiting Specialist for the Ebby Halliday Companies. Chris Kelly, president and CEO, recently made the announcement. 

Ebby’s in-house recruiting is recognized among the best in the residential real estate industry. Former Director of Recruiting Merry Shuck will transition to a new role as Director of Market Expansion for the Ebby Halliday Companies.

A longtime resident of North Texas, Nelson grew up in Lake Highlands and has lived in Frisco since 2011. In addition to having served as a recruiter for two well-known real estate brands, she holds a residential real estate license and has worked as an agent.

Ebby Halliday Companies Join CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion


In 2019, the Ebby Halliday Companies joined a growing coalition of CEOs pledging to advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace. President & CEO Chris Kelly is among the more than 1,000 CEOs who have come together for CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion, committing himself and the Ebby Halliday Companies to advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

“By signing on to this commitment, the Ebby Halliday Companies pledged to take action to cultivate a workplace where diverse perspectives and experiences are welcomed and respected, and where employees feel encouraged to discuss diversity and inclusion,” Kelly says. 

The Ebby Halliday Companies also appointed longtime leaders within the company Sylvia Sotelo Kidd and Pamela Young Diversity & Inclusion Officers. Since their appointments they have worked diligently to diversify recruitment and ensure that the Ebby Halliday Companies’ offerings reach the widest and most-inclusive group of homeowners and buyers.   

Organizations joining the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion pledge have taken a step toward effecting positive change, exchanging tangible learning opportunities, creating collaborative conversations and fostering innovation.

“As we expand our Southern Sector presence, we will increase homeownership opportunities and provide expert representation for the area’s buyers and sellers,” says Kelly. “As part of this commitment, we are dedicated to expanding the diversity of our employees and sales force.”

Decena Named VP of Corporate Real Estate Services


Harold Decena has been named Vice President of Corporate Real Estate Services for the Ebby Halliday Companies. Chris Kelly, president and chief executive officer of the Ebby Halliday Companies, and Betsy Cameron, vice president of business initiatives, recently made the announcement.

“Harold is a widely admired veteran of the relocation services industry,” Kelly said. “Having led relocation departments at two firms, as well as having effectively served the Ebby Halliday Companies for the past several years in a relocation-services management capacity, Harold is the perfect person to succeed Karen Greene, one of the industry’s most-admired professionals.”

Greene, who recently announced her intention to retire at the end of June, has been a relocation director in North Texas for 35 years. Having long planned to retire in 2020, she has mentored Decena with the goal of a seamless transition in mind.

Greene says that among the things she has most enjoyed about working at the Ebby Halliday Companies are the respect the iconic brand commands nationwide and its long-established relocation department.

“I also enjoyed that every day was different,” Greene says. “In the relocation business, you deal with human beings and a very important part of their lives – their homes. I loved working our agents and the years flew by for me.”

Decena will lead one of the nation’s most-respected and largest in-house Relocation Departments.

“I’m excited to be associated with a company that has deeply established roots,” Decena says. “I consider it an honor to help further the visibility Karen and our team have built in the relocation referral landscape.

Decena, a licensed real estate agent who also holds the Certified Relocation Professional designation from the Worldwide Employee Relocation Council, will lead a department of eight relocation professionals who are known nationwide for their ability to facilitate the real estate referral process – both incoming and outgoing.

“My leadership style is performance and data driven – it’s all about the results,” Decena says. “I want every member of our department to have the tools necessary to succeed. I genuinely want to help each team member achieve his or her goals. I see myself as their partner in achieving success. Mayur Chudasama Named Director of Property Management


Mayur Chudasama Named Director of Property Management

 

Mayur Chudasama has been named Director of Property Management for the Ebby Halliday Companies. Anthony Jackson, vice president of finance & operations, recently made the announcement. Ebby’s Property Management Division is responsible for the day-to-day management of hundreds of single-family homes, townhomes, duplexes and condominiums across North Texas.

 

“I am looking forward to working alongside Mayur as he brings the knowledge and structural expertise that is needed to run a large property management division,” says Jackson. “He is very familiar with the D-FW market and brings extensive experience working with property managers and property owners.”

 

Born and raised in Tulsa, Okla., Chudasama has lived in Dallas-Fort Worth for the past 10 years, where he has overseen the day-to-day management of homes located in 16 major markets across the U.S.

 

A natural leader, Chudasama says he leads by example. “I really enjoy the work of property management and I’m not hesitant to ‘get in the weeds’ as needed – no job is too large, or too small, when it comes to satisfying our valued clients. I want all of our property owners to know that while we are large enough to serve them, we are also small enough to know them.”

 

Chudasama says that during his years in the property-management profession he has seen just about everything and that he is well prepared – and excited – about leading the property-management division of North Texas’ most-respected residential real estate company.

 

Chudasama is married and is the father of two young children, 1 and 3 years old. In his spare time, he enjoys all things fitness-related. He particularly enjoys biking and is a frequent participant in local “5k” runs.

This week it was our honor at the Ebby Halliday Companies to host HomeServices of America CEO Gino Blefari. Gino met with Top Producers, leaders and employees from throughout the company during his Texas visit. He also shared words of wisdom gained during his remarkable career and his excitement about all the extraordinary things happening at HomeServices of America and the Ebby Halliday Companies.

 

Blefari has been CEO of HomeServices of America since January 2019. Prior to that he served as chief executive officer of HSF Affiliates. He is the founder of Intero Real Estate Services, based in California’s Silicon Valley, and served as its president and chief executive officer.

 

Blefari began his real estate career in 1982 and for the next 14 years was a top-producing agent averaging 61 homes sold per year. During this time, he not only excelled as a salesperson, but also as a manager and then chief operating officer of Intero. By 2000, he had the top five offices and seven of the top 11 offices within Century 21’s 6,300 worldwide offices.

 

In 2001, he became a senior vice president of NRT, where he began working on a national level. He has more than 25 years of experience in real estate sales, development and management, from local to national operations.

 

In 2014, Blefari was inducted into the Mike Ferry Organization’s Hall of Fame. Out of 5,000 mentors across the country, he was presented with the Mentor of the Year Award in 2012 by The Buffini Company. When making the announcement, Kelly emphasized the Ebby Halliday Companies’ distinct position in the North Texas marketplace as an organization that meets the needs of its sales associates and clients during the entirety of the real estate transaction.
